Participation in sport can take many forms: playing, coaching, umpiring, spectating or even just talking about it. Sport is a huge part of our culture, but is regularly full of sin. Christians are often unsure, or have not thought about what it looks like to be a Christian in sports culture

Imagine if sport across the world had a Christian culture. Imagine the vast influence that it would have on a huge amount of people. It would be a great avenue for people to see that there is a different way to participate in sport and ultimately be pointed to Jesus. How do we change the culture? Jesus changes culture by changing peoples hearts. We have the privilege of Jesus using us to point people to Him.

God wants to see Christians glorifying himself in sports culture rather than just conforming to it. He want to see Christian sports people telling others about the love of Jesus. As Colossians 3 says God wants Christian sports people to set their minds on things above (v2) and to participate like someone who has taken off the old self and its practices, and put on the new self(v9-10).

So How does the new self play sport?
